Man, i don't get what you guys dislike about MDF '00 [unless it's the tune selections themselves as a whole]... i can honestly say, w/out any hesitation, that Vinnie has NEVER dissapointed me on ANYTHING that he's ever played [AFA HIS playing is concerned]... those fills in "Toast for Eli" at approx. 5:22 into the song [& ESP. at 5:29!]; & the intro to & bass solo support on E Minor Shuf are DA SHIDD [& "THAT'S just for STARTERS"]....

Fuse, I agree that it's more the song selection than anything else on the MD DVD. Though, as Steve pointed out, Vinnie is underplaying, he's still ALWAYS a treat to watch because of what his brain comes up with. Musically, "Toast.." is a TERRIBLE song to me. E Minor Shuffle sounds SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better on Document for a variety of reasons. (though Landau's solo is better on the MD show for this song). I'm Tweaked was OK, and Vinnie most definitely underplayed that solo, though still great. Mathieson's fusion is SOOO much more enjoyable musically IMO for Vinnie (and anyone listening).

Believe it or not [& EGADDS]- i DON"T have "Document" [only MDF'00 as a ref point; & i DO also have Karizma Live boot @ Club Fabrik, Hamburg, Germany [which is some incredibly "STOOOPID" drumming - that's me poppin' it in the ole CD player, to the left, there]... i need to get Doc'ked desperately.
Yeah, Toast is not the "greatest of tunes [img]eek.gif[/img] ;" but VC's playg on MDF is extremely tasteful [his drumming on Toast literally keeps it from being, well, "TOAST"]; & there are some truly vintage VC moments on all those tunes AW, for shore... & the meter ain't sukkin' either, for shore... i'll say it again; his accompaniment synchopations under Stubie's bass solo on E Mn Shuf, is VINTAGE VC; retro shades of Shut Up n Play....
